The Limited…and I do mean clothes!

Standard

I haven’t been to The Limited in forever and a day!  I keep getting their emails about sales but nothing caught my eye to drive all the way to the mall.  Plus, the last time I looked around, it didn’t seem to have the same quality as they did a few years back.  Boy, was I wrong!!  I got an email from them stating that they were having a sale and if you bought a jacket, pant, dress, or skirt you get the second (lesser or equal value) for free!  (They also have a sale for buy a top and get the second 1/2 off.) Well, I need a new suit and this sounded like a steal.  So, I grabbed my coworker, Linda, and we headed to the mall at lunch.  I tried on a few items and nothing worked but before I gave up I found a cute dress.  Tried it on and it fit.  I grabbed a tweed skirt and voila, I have my free item.  After much time debating with myself (insert dirty joke here) I also bought a black/grey suit (see all pics below) and paid for the jacket and got the pants FREE!!   Four pieces, normally $400, for $250!  AND! They gave me $25 off coupons when you spend $50 to use next week, and I got 4 coupons!  I can grab another suit and get $100 off!  (Sorry, honey!)

So, here’s where The Limited really made it amazing to shop there.  I wore the dress the very next day to business meetings in Dallas.  I put it on and it looked good.  But, as the day got started, I kept feeling that the dress was a bit big.  I mean, I did have to put a cami underneath it to hide my bra.  When lunch time came I made a few calls to the local Limited stores.  The first store at North Park Mall was super helpful.  Ricky, the manager, said I could come in and exchange the dress I was wearing but they didn’t have the size I was looking for.  Then, I called The Limited at the Galleria and spoke to a manager, Natalie.  I told her my dilemma and she was on it.  She found my size and said come on in!  I said, “My name is Rebecca, I have red hair, and I’m wearing the dress I’m about to exchange.”  Confession time or what?!

When I got to the Galleria, I stopped in the bathroom first before going to the store.  I had one last glance at the dress and there are deodorant stains.  Not bad, but now I’m a bit embarrassed.  F*** it!!  I’m a customer, Natalie already said okay, and when are there NOT deodorant stains on a shirt or dress you try on in the store?

I found Natalie, showed her the stains, and she said that was fine!  I tried on the smaller size and it fit sooo much better (and now minus deodorant stains).  Natalie fixed me up and I was on my way.  What amazing customer service!!!

So, now all I have to do is return the suit I bought because I already have a jacket just like it!  Maybe I’ll go blue!  Maybe brown!

The sale ends either Saturday or Sunday so ladies get on it if you’re looking for a new piece.

Time flies when you’re…married.

Standard

Sunday was our 1-year anniversary.  Yay us!  It doesn’t seem like a year has passed but a lot of things have happened – all good for the both of us.  The only problem is my memory!  First, we picked up the wedding cakes that we froze and saved to eat again on our anniversary.  My mom thought we could all (family) share it but I asked that just Jacob and I share in that moment.  We had both the turtle head and the top of my cake.  My cake was HEAVY!!  So, we got home, had our evening, went to bed, and NEVER ATE THE CAKE!  Tonight, Jacob is out so another night is going to pass without eating the cake.  I heard it was good luck to eat the cake on your anniversary.  Is it bad luck to eat it after?  Should we just throw it away or is that worse?  Who cares?!  Why do I worry about these things.

The second thing is this little piece of lingerie I’ve had for a year!  I bought a groupon to ‘Underwear’ to buy something for my wedding night.  I completely forgot about it until after the freaking wedding.  Ding dong me!  A month later, on the last day the coupon was good, I rushed to the store and picked out a cotton chemise.  I thought that I would take it to Costa Rica in January for our delayed honeymoon.  Well, I forgot it.  What I mean is, I didn’t even remember I had it until 3 weeks after we got back from our trip.  The whole time I knew I was forgetting something but couldn’t think of what it was.

Save it for Valentine’s Day?  Nope…forgot.  Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day?  Nope.  Saving it for our anniversary.  Did I remember?  No. (Insert Pacman fails sound here) So, I’m not going to worry about it.  Gonna save it for a random day for just because.  And, even though Jacob will read this, he won’t remember either and it will be our fun surprise.  Sorry, no pictures for that day!!

Need to pick up some Ginko for my memory, but I’ll probably forget to do that, too.

Dang it!!

This week was SUPER hard in Fantasy Football!  I made some gut changes and I shouldn’t have.  Not that I did bad but I’m playing a girl that hasn’t lost yet.  And now?  I’m looking at what it could have been and watching the Cowboys vs Redskins and it could be that if I hadn’t made any changes, I could have possibly won.  UGH!  I know there are a LOT more weeks left but it’s more frustrating when I make the wrong decisions as opposed to the players not playing well or getting hurt.  I did look to see how the other teams did and it seems as though I’m not the only one who made some poor player decisions but the players just sucked it this week, too.  Are they tired already??  Just freaking catch the ball and run it in!  Go straight, not to the side line!

I’m feeling good about next week but I am playing the Candy Striper; and, even though she also has a 1-2 record, she has a tough team and will be bouncing back from 2 consecutive losses.  Her fire will be blowing.  Hopefully for me, it’s all smoke.

Love ya’ Dida!!

Pecan Street Festival!

Standard

Another festival is among us in Austin and if you’ve never been to Pecan Street Festival, you need to start going!  Pecan Street Festival is held twice a year (Spring and Fall) down on 6th Street, previously known as Pecan Street.  The festival is lined with local artists, food stands, and entertainment for kids and adults. Many of the bars are open so you can sit in a cool area and have a beer.  Most of us attend in the Fall to get Christmas gifts for family and friends and in the Spring to pick up Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and graduation gifts.

For me, this is a time to get together with a group of friends to hang out, catch up on what’s going on, and enjoy time with kids and pets, too.  Jason Carrier and his crew always provides an excellent venue for us at Chuggin’ Monkey to meet up and drink and people watch.  I’m so excited for it this year and can’t wait to include new people (Jacob, Jason W., and Harper) and new friends (Shauna) to the tradition.

If you need more information you can find it here http://www.oldpecanstreetfestival.com/home/

Hope to see you all down there!!

Pants too pudgy? I’ve got the fix!

Standard

I have a pair of pants that I absolutely love except for the fact that they stretch out as I wear them.  Since I’m not as timely as I should be with getting them to the cleaners, the pants start to create a fashion delimma.  Basically, they make me look like I have an enormous outty belly button or a small penis.  My coworker, Linda, can confirm this.

Tiny penis or large belly button??

So, in order to avoid this, I came up with a brilliant idea of using one of my bandeau bras to work as a minimizer on my pants.

Bandeau Magic!!

Now, my pants look like they fit perfectly and no more pudginess around my middle.  Because, really?  Who needs the extra pudgy?!

No more pudgy!!

(I swear I work…really!)

I’m a winner!!

Standard

I finally won my first fantasy football game!  And, even though it’s only the 2nd week, I’m hoping my team will press on and get a few more ‘W’s.  Amanda, who was in last place going into the week, got a win for this week.  Yay!!  This week the two Rebecca’s play each other.  Her team is pretty good so all I can hope for is injuries, which is pretty mean of me but mama needs some spending cash!!

Good luck to all the other teams playing on the Austin Ladies League or other leagues!!

You can't stop me!

Fist Pumping!!

Standard

When I went to work on Friday and saw all the ACL signs and workers, immediately my hands went in the air to celebrate the festival.  I thought, “This feels good!  I like to fist pump.”  Now, I’m obsessed with it.  Want to put my hands in the air and wave them around like I just don’t care!!  All day at work, driving around town running errands, at karaoke Friday night, and while out on the town the fist pumping never stopped.  It’s pretty much my new thing.  Jacob and I went to ACL and was telling everyone to fist pump.  Snapping is sooo overrated  😉  So, when you hear the music pump those fist to the beat, just don’t forget your feet!

Fist Pumping is Trending!!

ACL!!

Standard

So today’s the first day of another ACL festival and I feel the excitement! When I was pulling into work there were all sorts of workers, cones, barricades, and ACL signs that weren’t there when we left for the day yesterday. I can hear the music from my office and even though I can’t understand the words, the beat makes me excited and little sad that I’m not attending again this year. But, hooray for Sunday and seeing all my friends and getting to hear some music. Someone at work asked who I wanted to see and I said, “I don’t even know who’s playing! Just want to go and enjoy the festival!” So to all of my ACL attendees, I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend. Eat and drink lots and lots and have the best time of your life. And, I hope to see you all on Sunday!!

Cheers!

A Plea To Justin Timberlake

Standard

I have to thank Deanna for sharing this with us on Facebook. With my fancy husband and his snotty nose and upper respiratory infection, I’ve been playing this every day with hard laughter to follow. I had to share it with my ladies to help Bring Sexy Back!

“How am I supposed to feel tingly in my down there?!”

A Plea To Justin Timberlake.

Exhausted!

Standard

Fantasy football is exhausting!  But, I love it!  I’m constantly studying my guys, the other teams, WHY DIDN’T I PICK BRADY?!  Ugh!  I wanted him and everyone told me to not pick a QB first.  They’re stupid.  Next time I’m so getting my QB on first.

I love how Jacob’s getting into it.  It’s something we can kind of do together.  One more game left for the week.  I lost my week but faired well over the league…I hope.  Is it Thursday yet?  This will be the longest game I’ve ever played in my life.  Jack and Tiffany’s Trivial Pursuit marathons has nothing on this!

Going to bed…love you all!
